This seminar course focuses on contemporary Chinese language films. Course curriculum includes film viewing, reading of film scripts and critiques, analytical discussion, and writing on related topics such as characterization, plot, themes and societal background. Possible films include Farewell My Concubine (1993), To Live (1994) and Shower (1999).
